In Australia, Music Therapy is recognised by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) however must be provided by a Registered Music Therapist (RMT) who holds current membership with the Australian Music Therapy Association.

Fees must be in accordance with NDIS pricing guidelines which are published annually by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) and the terms of service should be documented within a Service Agreement between the participant and the provider.
